Henrietta Horváth - office manager

  • Production assistant

"Without them, there would be no theatre..." This thought inspired our interview series, in which we take a twist on the audience experience.

► Our next guest interview is with Heni Horváth, our theatre's financial assistant. In her job, she is involved in preparing applications, paying bills, administration, liaising with actors, shifts and accounting - all sorts of exciting things... :)

𝐏: How long have you been involved with Proton Theatre? How did you "meet"?
𝐇: I joined Kornél Mundruczó's film company more than 15 years ago and worked for them for a few years. When I met Dóra Büki, she had just started to wrinkle Kornél's theatre life. We were colleagues and became friends. Then it happened about 4 years ago, an economic assistant was in need and she thought of me, I was happy to come, as my little daughter was just about to start kindergarten. But Proton has not only given me a lot in terms of work, Dóri and I have also been on holiday together in Rome, which was one of the best trips of my life.

𝐏: Which is your favourite and most important Proton performance and why?
𝐇: I saw The Ice a long time ago, but I was enchanted by the spectacular staging and the unique vision that Kornél has realized and dreamed up for the stage in this production. What I love most about his performances is that he is always able to throw something stunningly unusual and astonishing in your face - both in images and in what he says - which then pops up in your mind and reminds you that we all have our dark and light sides.

𝐏: What is the biggest difficulty in your work?
𝐇: I always have to be very precise in my work and it's not always easy for me, but I've improved a lot in that aspect over the years so I don't have to worry about it as much.
