Lili Monori receives Lifetime Achievement Award
The 19th Los Angeles Hungarian Film Festival held this year included screenings of two films featuring Lili Monori: the legendary The Witness and Bad Poems. The festival director will hand over the award to the actress at a special dinner event in Budapest.
Lili Monori has starred in over 60 films. In addition to her film oeuvre, she has been active in the theatre ever since the beginning of her career. In 1982 she founded the Szentkirályi Theatre Workshop with B. Miklós Székely. She joined the Proton Theatre upon its foundation in 2009. Over the ten years that the company has been in existence, she has given dazzling and unforgettable performances in Frankenstein-project, Disgrace, Dementia and Imitation of life. In their latest show Evolution, which opened in September 2019, she plays the role of Éva, earning recognition and rave reviews from audiences and critics alike for her portrayal of a woman born in Auschwitz.
