I Am Seriously Ludicrous – Gábor Reisz debuts as a theatre director at the Proton Theatre

Film director, Gábor Reisz, who has such cult titles in his filmography as the feature films For Some Inexplicable Reason and Bad Poems, is preparing to direct his first theatre work.

The performance, I Am Seriously Ludicrous, is based on the short stories by the director, and it will premiere on 13 June 2021. The new piece is a collaboration of Proton Theatre and the Trafó House of Contemporary Arts. The conflict of the story is about a stolen bike. One day Mr. Horváth, the former owner of the bicycle, sees his chained bike on the street. He decides not to move away from it until its present owner appears. While waiting there, he meets typical characters from Budapest’s nightlife. In addition to Zsombor Jéger, already known from Imitation of Life, the piece will feature Zoltán Friedenthal, Dániel Király, Gergely Kocsis, and Eliza Sodró, who are working with Proton Theatre for the first time.

Further dates: 14 June 2021.
