Rehearsals of Disgrace, the latest production of Proton Theatre, have already begun. The performance is directed by Kornél Mundruczó, and it is based on the novel of the same name by the Nobel Prize winner J. M. Coetzee. The story takes place in the Republic of South Africa after apartheid. The central character is David Lurie, a professor from Cape Town, who loses his power and every point of reference in the new social system. The piece's premiere, the result of an international co-production, will be held in Vienna on 17th May, within the framework of the Wiener Festwochen.
